It is! There has long been a culture of fear and mistrust between people and Pokemon in Hisui. If I can be even a small part of changing that, I will be content!

Why are they so distrusting?

[offtracks]

There is some history of conflict. Wild Pokemon certainly can and will attack human travelers who wander into their territories, and of course that does not predispose humans towards them. My Clan in particular lives near a species that will actively attempt to hunt people, though that behavior isn't...necessarily common.

Besides which, we are in competition for resources at times - people do hunt and fish, and our foraging may bring us into conflict with herbivorous Pokemon.

I see. I can understand how that would complicate things a lot. It isn't easy to act as a go-between for people and nature. I admire you for your efforts to help both sides.

Ah, well. It will help everyone if we can come to a better understanding!

What inspired you to take on such a task?

In retrospect, perhaps it was some form of repressed memory. Emmet says that there is much more cooperation between humans and Pokemon in the future. It always just felt natural to me that things should be that way.

That is very interesting. I have to wonder if there are then other things about yourself that are remnants of what you think you've lost. Something you've always had and were not aware of.

I know that there are a few muscle memory habits and quirks of language that remained. But I'm not aware of anything else as significant as my predisposition towards Pokemon.

I imagine you won't know for sure until someone who knew you before tells you so.

I should clarify, it isn't especially important. Whoever you were then, or whoever you are now- what matters is that you are yourself in the moment.

Oh, yes, I suppose that's true. Emmet insists that it is, anyway, and he's the person it matters the most to.
