Hmm. Fair enough. You can't do much about one, but you can work on fixing the other.

Can you think of anything about yourself that might give such an impression?

[Well, it would be better to say that Emmet is blunt. He is nice, but it is hard to get past how he talks, like how Ingo is nice, but people might not be able to get past Ingo's RBF.]

In what ways are you not nice?

It's like this, someone gets on the train and starts eating. No eating is allowed on the line. I tell them they must stop eating because again, food isn't allowed on the line. They said they haven't eaten all day- I tell them that's the rule and when the next stop is so they can finish eating.

But Ingo would be more likely to go 'This one time.' and carry on.

But rules exist for a reason. If no one followed or enforced them, the may as well not exist. Why is eating not allowed?

It can be disruptive to other passengers, can cause a mess- which would mean more work for the depot agents, we can't account for things like allergies either.

If it's for the sake of allergies, then you could be saving a life. That's nice for the people who would rather not die on the train.

And lets say the person who is eating says they need it because they haven't eaten all day, what is stopping the next person from saying that? How do we choose who is allowed to eat on the train or not. Its better to just have a blanket rule.

How long is the train ride, anyway?

[He's only ever ridden the Folkmore train, and that doesn't go for more than a handful of hours, probably? Less than a day at least.]

I think our longest line is a few hours.

It normally takes several days to starve. For the sake of other people, they'd be fine. It's a good rule, you're fine too.

Thats what I say, but people think I am mean for it. No eating on train, if you were going to faint, you should have sat down on a bench and ate first. Or sit down and wait to eat at the next stop.

Both have merit. Perhaps you should take the situation into consideration before you decide which is best, if you don't already? There will be times when those around you are wrong, but they may be right also.

It's harder to do the second one. Because everyone has circumstances.

What's right for you and what's right for another will differ. It requires understanding on both sides.
